Step by Step Pet Locket Necklace
Hello tumblrs! I thought I’d post a step by step of my hand painted, pet portrait, locket making process for you to enjoy!
Step 1:
I had someone commission a portrait and send me a picture! Here is Lexi the subject at hand! :) She was sent to me by my friend Stacie over at TheClayPony.
Step 2:
I sketched the photo in miniature on canvas paper.
Step 3:
I figure out that I put the forward ear too close to the front after I took the photograph. Move it, then gather the supplies!
Step 4:
I painted the background and the darkest darks.
Step 5:
I realize I’m tired hearing the music of Minecraft courtesy of my husband so I nab my headphones. I also realize after taking the picture that the background color was too dark!
Step 6:
I fix the background and begin mapping out the general areas of color on Lexi.
Step 7:
Finish the painting and pop it into the locket!
Step 8:
Pop on a chain.
